Teaching Related Activities

My students and I have collaborated with Professor Bill Messner and his student J.D. Taylor to update the well-known Control Tutorials for MATLAB and Simulink that were originally developed by Dawn Tilbury of the University of Michigan. Some UDM students that contributed to the Tutorials include: Yasser Alnounou, Jill Goryca, Li Guan, and Alex Szmatula. We are always working to improve the tutorials with added controls related material and the latest functionality of MATLAB and Simulink. A webinar on how to use the Tutorials to help improve control system instruction can be found at this MathWorks-hosted webinar.

I have also posted some controls related lectures on YouTube. You can access them via my YouTube channel.

My colleague Kirstie Plantenberg and I have also written a new text for undergraduate dynamics courses that is meant to help instructors employ research-proven pedagogical techniques to improve student learning outcomes. The text is entitled Conceptual Dynamics and is published by SDC Publications.
